Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Logistics Specialist supports the Procurement department’s logistics function, handling freight movement for incoming and outgoing consignments and overseeing inventory control activities. The role ensures QR Group receives goods and services on time, within quality standards, and at optimal cost.

Key responsibilities

• Execute professional procurement and logistics tasks related to freight movements.
• Develop and implement inventory management strategies to control costs, generate savings, and maximize working capital.
• Manage perpetual inventory counts and conduct accuracy checks.
• Minimise overstocks and eliminate obsolete raw materials.
• Ensure incoming products are receipted and processed according to company procedures.
• Provide routine inventory performance reports.
• Perform cyclic stock checks and produce discrepancy reports.
• Liaise with internal and external parties, including cargo divisions and outstations, to arrange freight movement by priority.
• Coordinate tender processes to meet organizational goods and services requirements.
• Maintain compliance with local GCC import/export regulations.
• Support audit‑ready departmental record keeping.
• Assist selection committees to ensure procedures follow legal and policy standards.
• Negotiate specifications with suppliers to obtain optimal solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience with a freight forwarder (air, land, sea).
• Minimum 5 years experience in inventory or warehouse management.
• Understanding of Total Landing Cost.
• Familiarity with GCC import and export laws.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
