Loss Prevention Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a Loss Prevention Engineer in Doha to carry out field inspections and audits of KAHRAMAA facilities, substations, workshops, warehouses and project sites, ensuring compliance with fire safety and loss prevention standards. The role also covers review and approval of fire safety designs, drawings and materials, and coordination with consultants and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and audit KAHRAMAA facilities, substations, workshops, warehouses and project sites against fire safety and loss prevention standards.
• Review and verify life safety designs for new and existing facilities in line with KAHRAMAA, QCDD and NFPA requirements.
• Review and approve drawings, test reports, method statements and material submittals for loss prevention systems.
• Supervise site activities, pre-commissioning and testing of loss prevention systems in line with KAHRAMAA HSE specifications.
• Evaluate and approve materials and equipment for fire detection, suppression and smoke management systems.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and internal departments on fire safety matters.
• Review As-built drawings, O&M manuals and other technical documentation.
• Apply fire protection design, fire dynamics and risk analysis (qualitative and quantitative) in project evaluations.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for corrective and preventive measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Loss Prevention Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 10 years in loss prevention engineering, preferably in the utilities (power and water) sector.
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) from NFPA (mandatory).
• Fluent English (spoken and written); Arabic is an advantage.
• Valid Qatar driving licence.
• Available for mobile contact during and outside office hours for emergencies.
• Must pass a written assessment and interview conducted by KAHRAMAA.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, report writing and presentations.
• Proven background in design, inspection, erection and commissioning of loss prevention systems and fire risk assessments.
• Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
