Mechanical Proposal Manager

About the role

The Mechanical Proposal Manager leads the end‑to‑end tendering process for mechanical projects, ensuring that every submission is technically sound, competitively priced, and fully compliant with client requirements. This senior position works closely with engineering, estimation, commercial and project teams to deliver high‑quality proposals on time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute proposal strategies aligned with company goals and client specifications.
• Manage the full proposal lifecycle: tender review, planning, coordination, preparation, submission, and post‑tender evaluation.
• Analyse tender documents, specifications, drawings and contractual terms to guarantee accurate and compliant bids.
• Coordinate technical and commercial inputs from engineering, estimation, commercial and project teams.
• Lead estimation activities, including quantity take‑offs, cost planning, resource assessment and pricing analysis.
• Validate cost estimates, assumptions, exclusions and risk considerations.
• Handle client clarifications, tender queries and communications throughout the process.
• Identify proposal risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain and improve estimating and proposal procedures for quality and efficiency.
• Conduct post‑tender reviews, capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in proposal management, estimation or cost engineering within construction or engineering.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering systems, construction methods and project execution.
• Experience with GCC projects is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
