Mechanical Technician – Commissioning

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our team in Doha, focusing on commissioning and maintenance of mechanical equipment in a reverse‑osmosis water‑treatment plant. The role involves hands‑on work with pumps, motors, valves and related systems to ensure reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul pumps, motors, valves, gearboxes, compressors and piping systems.
• Maintain RO plant assets such as high‑pressure pumps, booster pumps, pressure vessels, RO skids, membranes, filters, dosing systems, heat exchangers and lifting equipment.
• Carry out equipment alignment, lubrication and condition monitoring.
• Participate in commissioning, start‑up and shutdown activities.
• Assist in root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and complete maintenance reports in the CMMS.
• Coordinate with operations, electrical and instrumentation teams while following permit‑to‑work and HSE procedures.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and plant call‑outs as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance.
• 3–5 years of experience in desalination, water treatment, power plants, oil & gas or similar industrial facilities.
• Experience with reverse‑osmosis desalination systems is preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
