Mechanical Technician - Offshore

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to perform pre‑commissioning, commissioning and ongoing mechanical maintenance on offshore oil and gas facilities in Qatar. The role ensures rotating and static equipment operate safely and reliably to support continuous plant production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Install, inspect, test and commission mechanical equipment and systems.
• Carry out equipment preservation, flushing, cleaning, pressure and leak testing, and reinstatement.
• Conduct mechanical completion inspections and support punch‑list clearance.
• Support commissioning of pumps, compressors, turbines, generators, valves, heat exchangers, vessels and related systems.
• Execute equipment alignment, rotation checks, lubrication, oil flushing and functional testing.
• Assist with start‑up, shutdown, performance testing and troubleshooting.
• Verify installations against approved drawings, datasheets and manufacturer recommendations.
• Prepare commissioning check sheets, inspection records, test packs and handover documentation.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, operations, QA/QC and HSE teams while complying with PTW, LOTO and offshore safety procedures.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of mechanical pre‑commissioning, commissioning and maintenance experience, preferably offshore.
• Proven experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical or energy industry.
• Hands‑on experience with rotating and static equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics and equipment datasheets.
• Good command of English.
• Valid BOSIET or FOET certification (mandatory).
• Valid H2S certificate (mandatory).
