Painting Supervisor

About the role

McDermott International is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead the fabrication yard operations for offshore modules. The role involves providing technical guidance, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving safety and quality performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance and technical support to yard operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and project requirements.
• Oversee discipline activities such as procedures, equipment selection, consumable choices and quality control measures.
• Develop and implement programs to improve efficiency and productivity while maintaining safety and quality.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of welding specifications and identify improvement areas.
• Train and mentor personnel in welding techniques, safety protocols and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and other disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with client representatives and external stakeholders on welding‑related queries and provide technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Extensive fabrication experience in the oil and gas industry, focusing on offshore modules.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes.
• Proven track record of successful project execution with emphasis on safety, quality and schedule adherence.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to analyse complex welding issues, develop innovative solutions and make informed decisions.
