Aircraft Mechanic – Paint Shop

About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic – Paint Shop works in the workshop to perform all required maintenance and painting tasks on aircraft, following approved technical data, Qatar Airways standards and safety procedures. The role ensures timely completion of work while maintaining a high level of technical competency.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assigned paint‑shop tasks to provide satisfactory service to customers.
• Operate equipment and tooling specific to the paint‑shop to meet task time‑frame objectives.
• Interpret technical information to maintain continuous operation of aircraft components.
• Perform tasks independently under normal conditions and meet productivity standards.
• Carry out additional department duties as directed by the head of department.
• Comply with company health and safety policies and ensure team awareness of safety issues.
• Execute aircraft component rectifications in line with QCAA/EASAPART‑145 requirements and quality standards.
• Lead by example to motivate the team and uphold shop best practices.

Required profile

• High School/Vocational qualification or Diploma with minimum 3 years related experience, or Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years experience.
• Minimum 5 years of certifying experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Degree or equivalent diploma/license in Aircraft Maintenance.
• Basic ICAO Type II licence.
• Relevant trade‑related certificates and at least one year of practical experience in a similar technical field.
• Recognised aeronautical/technical training certificates.
