Postdoctoral Associate in Population Health Sciences

About the role

The Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar Abu‑Raddad Lab seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to advance population health research through mathematical and computational modeling of disease dynamics. The role involves independent hypothesis generation, data analysis, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deterministic, stochastic compartmental, and individual‑based models to study communicable and non‑communicable diseases.
• Formulate hypotheses, conduct comprehensive data analyses, and interpret modeling outcomes.
• Co‑design study protocols with principal investigators and define computational plans aligned with research aims.
• Prepare reports, visualizations, and scientific manuscripts; contribute to grant submissions.
• Present findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences.
• Maintain thorough documentation of methods, results, and project progress.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mathematical Epidemiology, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Relevant post‑qualification research experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MATLAB, Mathematica, and Berkeley Madonna.
• Experience with statistical software such as SPSS and R.
• Competence in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
