Process Controller / Control Room Operator (CCR)

About the role

The Process Controller / Control Room Operator (CCR) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plant. Working from the control room, you will monitor plant performance, respond to alarms, and coordinate with field teams to ensure continuous water production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor SWRO plant processes via DCS/SCADA systems.
• Control plant parameters including intake, pretreatment, DAF, ultrafiltration, high‑pressure pumps, RO trains, chemical dosing, and product water distribution.
• Respond to alarms and process deviations, taking corrective actions to maintain stable operation.
• Record operational data, prepare shift reports, and maintain accurate logs.
• Monitor water quality parameters and analyse performance trends.
• Coordinate with field operators during start‑up, shutdown, and emergency situations.
• Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting, equipment isolation, instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Follow HSE procedures, permit‑to‑work requirements and ensure compliance with environmental and water‑quality regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Process Technology or Water Treatment Technology (or equivalent technical qualification with desalination experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in SWRO desalination plants (≥50 MLD), water‑treatment or related process industries.
• Proven experience operating DCS, SCADA and PLC systems.
• Solid knowledge of water‑treatment chemistry and chemical dosing systems.
