Process Controller / Control Room Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Process Controller / Control Room Operator to operate and monitor a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plant in Doha, using DCS/SCADA systems to ensure stable and efficient water production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant processes, controlling intake, pretreatment, DAF, ultrafiltration, high‑pressure pumps, RO trains, chemical dosing and product water distribution.
• Respond to alarms and process deviations, taking corrective actions to maintain stable operation.
• Record operational data, prepare shift reports and monitor water‑quality parameters.
• Coordinate with field operators during start‑up, shutdown and emergencies, supervising field activities from the control room.
• Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting, equipment isolation, instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Follow HSE procedures, ensure compliance with environmental and water‑quality regulations and report abnormal conditions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Process Technology or Water Treatment Technology (or equivalent technical qualification with desalination experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in SWRO desalination plants (≥50 MLD), water‑treatment or related process industries.
• Experience operating DCS, SCADA and PLC systems and knowledge of water‑treatment chemistry and chemical dosing.
