Public Health Consultant

About the role

The Public Health Consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), healthcare facilities and communities to improve the health of Qatar's population. The role focuses on providing evidence‑based information that shapes programs and policies with a direct impact on public health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct professional research and analysis to address public health challenges.
• Analyse epidemiological trends and risk factors through studies and surveillance.
• Benchmark Qatar’s health programs against regional and international standards.
• Develop and present findings to management for policy and procedure development.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing public health programs and policies.
• Plan and implement action plans for ongoing projects and programs.
• Ensure effective partnerships within MOPH departments to strengthen information flow.
• Monitor health programs and evaluate progress.
• Collaborate with governmental, non‑governmental and private partners on program development and implementation.
• Organise workshops, trainings and awareness campaigns in collaboration with WHO consultants and other stakeholders.
• Develop and participate in public health research initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Healthcare Management or related field (PhD preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in public health, epidemiology or health policy.
