Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead the hotel’s procurement function, ensuring that all goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively and to the required quality standards. This role works closely with all hotel departments to align purchasing activities with operational needs, budget constraints and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end purchasing processes, from requisition approval to purchase order issuance.
• Obtain competitive quotations and conduct market surveys to secure the best commercial terms.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery conditions and other contractual elements with suppliers.
• Maintain supplier relationships, evaluate performance and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Monitor inventory levels, coordinate receiving, and control costs against approved budgets.
• Utilise the hotel’s Materials Management System (e.g., SCALA) for order tracking and reporting.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in Finance, Hospitality, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing or materials management role within a hotel or large hospitality operation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Materials Management Systems such as SCALA.
