PYP Teacher – Maternity Cover (Doha)

About the role

Etqan Global Academy is seeking a qualified PYP Teacher to cover a maternity leave from 11 October to 17 December 2026 in Doha, Qatar. The teacher will deliver inquiry‑based lessons, maintain continuity of the existing Programme of Inquiry and support student wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver outstanding inquiry‑based lessons within the IB PYP framework, following the class’s existing Programme of Inquiry.
• Pick up existing planning quickly and ensure continuity of learning, routines and relationships.
• Collaborate with grade‑level colleagues, specialist teachers and the PYP Coordinator to promote student agency and transdisciplinary learning.
• Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policy, contributing to end‑of‑term reporting.
• Build positive relationships with students and communicate regularly with parents.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports wellbeing.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school during the cover period.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE/PGDE or equivalent) and a Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous IB PYP experience with excellent classroom practice.
• Ability to adapt quickly and settle into an established class and team.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills and a commitment to safeguarding.
• Fluent English speaker (native or near‑native) and availability for an immediate start.
• Candidates currently based in Qatar with the right to work are preferred.
