R&D Engineer

About the role

Akura Medical is seeking an entry‑level R&D Engineer to join its new research and development facility in Doha, Qatar. You will contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced medical imaging systems that support the company’s innovative thrombectomy and imaging platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct experiments and analyze performance of devices and materials.
• Develop new test equipment, fixtures, and test methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure product specifications are met.
• Design and test fixtures, collect and present test data for design decisions.
• Create and release controlled documents such as test methods, reports, and SolidWorks drawings.
• Review design‑control documentation, including requirements, specifications, and test protocols.
• Support the Quality Management System and design‑control processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 0‑1 years of relevant experience or hands‑on lab exposure.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to learn, adapt to changing priorities, and follow design‑control procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools, specifically SolidWorks.
• Basic machining and fixture construction skills (a plus).
• Experience in building or testing laboratory systems.
