Safety Specialist - NFPS

About the role

QatarEnergy LNG is looking for a Safety Specialist for its mega NFPS project in Doha. The role establishes the Safety, Health, Environment and Security plans, processes and procedures so that all projects are executed safely in line with QatarEnergy LNG HSE&Q policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Help set expectations for HSE&Q management and safety resources, and carry out project-wide onshore and offshore assessments to identify process and programme improvements.
• Develop early QatarEnergy LNG PMS plans and deliverables for project studies up to concept stage, support HSE requirements for ITT tenders and run contractor HSE evaluations.
• Support staffing plans, recruitment, onboarding and deployment of safety management resources, and review and approve contractor HSE&Q systems such as safety management, fire and rescue, environment and security plans.
• Verify safety processes on site independently of the PMT and act as a focal point for coordination between PMT and HSE&Q subject matter experts.
• Advise management on the Project Safety Management System, HSE performance indicators and stakeholder interfaces, maintain a statistical database and roll-up reports, and analyse KPIs and data to drive improvement.
• Facilitate HIPO and recordable incident investigations, confirm root causes and monitor corrective actions.
• Support emergency response preparedness across project sites, share safety alerts, lessons learned and best practices, and apply industry best practice for SHE&S on large oil and gas capital projects.

Required profile

• Degree in science, engineering or management with a formal qualification in SHE&S management.
• 10 years of experience as a HSE&Q/SHE&S professional, including at least 3 years in supervisory roles.
• Experience in oil and gas, construction, marine or similar industries managing HSE&Q for engineering, construction, commissioning, systems completion, hook-up/start-up and EPC contractors worldwide.
• Experience implementing HSE&Q systems and building HSE&Q capability on new construction and start-up projects.
