Senior Accountant – Construction Finance

About the role

Waagner Biro Bridge Services is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial operations for its construction projects in Qatar. You will ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and tax compliance while supporting project profitability and cash‑flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Record and manage full‑cycle accounting, prepare Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reports and ensure IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
• Track retention receivables/payables, review subcontractor progress payments and certifications.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and conduct month‑end/year‑end close activities.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and provide project margin analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar tax regulations, file corporate income tax returns and manage withholding tax for foreign vendors.
• Handle progress billing, client invoicing, accounts‑receivable aging and collections.
• Process supplier and subcontractor invoices, verify LPOs, delivery notes and payment certificates, and manage cash‑flow planning.
• Support internal and external audits, improve accounting procedures and ERP utilization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, construction contract accounting and Qatar tax compliance.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel (pivot tables, financial models).
