Senior Field Service Engineer – OT Cyber Security

About the role

ABB is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer specialized in OT Cyber Security to join its Process Automation Energy Industries Division in Qatar. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work onsite at customer locations, supporting both service and project implementations for operational technology environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support to customers, helping them apply cybersecurity solutions that improve the security and resilience of OT systems.
• Execute and support the implementation of cybersecurity solutions, ensuring timely and cost‑effective project delivery.
• Provide training and ongoing support throughout the solution lifecycle, from onboarding to post‑deployment.
• Collaborate with sales and technical teams to understand customer requirements and demonstrate how ABB’s cybersecurity offerings address operational challenges.
• Support cyber security activities at on‑shore and off‑shore customer sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electronic/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of total experience, with at least 5 years in cybersecurity for industrial automation or OT environments.
• Extensive current or previous experience with ABB is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of 800xA or Symphony Plus (must‑have); experience with ScadaVantage, AC800 M, AC800 M HI, Infi‑90 is highly preferred.
• Expertise in security controls such as system hardening, network hardening, WSUS, Trellix ENS, Solid Core, network monitoring, Syslog, Acronis, NGFW firewalls, OT firewalls, network switches and SIEM.
• Ability to design cyber‑secure OT system architectures and deep understanding of ICS/SCADA systems, network protocols (Modbus, OPC, MMS, IEC, DNP3, Profibus) and industrial communication standards.
