Senior Reservoir Engineer

About the role

This Senior Reservoir Engineer position supports the framing, coordination and consolidation of subsurface Reservoir Development and Growth (RDG) studies needed to mature and deliver development projects. It works closely with NOC stakeholders, primarily Petroleum Architects and IDEG, to secure project milestone approvals and shareholder and FID endorsements for new wells, and to provide input for Field Development Studies. The role sits under the Head, Reservoir Integration, with standard office hours, five days a week, in the Doha office.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare subsurface inputs, with Asset RDG teams, for new wells and field development studies, including technical documentation for shareholder reviews, validations and approvals.
• Coordinate and consolidate key subsurface RDG deliverables such as unconstrained production forecasts, resource estimates, data acquisition plans and derisking strategies.
• Provide subsurface inputs to IDEG to support the design and sizing of wellhead platforms and surface facilities.
• Take part in multi-Division meetings and share key findings across divisions.
• Support Field Development Strategy and development studies, and coordinate the maturation of appraisal well Basis of Design in line with drilling schedules, studies and budgets.
• Lead post-FID optimization studies and support post-execution reviews and lessons learned.
• Consolidate RDG inputs for ARR, budget and LRBP submissions, and prepare materials for shareholder validation meetings.
• Maintain the Al Shaheen MDP, reference projects, models, databases and archives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree in a reservoir engineering or petroleum engineering subject.
• 10 years of experience in a subsurface organization, including with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to engage and manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels, and to frame and execute sub-projects with limited supervision.
• Commercial and business acumen and the ability to influence business decisions.

Required skills

• Experience with Intersect, PowerBI and Petrel.
