Senior Mechanical Engineer – Subsea Umbilical & Power Cable

About the role

Airswift is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in subsea umbilical and power cable design to support a multi‑billion offshore redevelopment project. The position is based at the Doha headquarters and includes regular site visits, working five days a week on an 8‑9 hour schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical design and engineering services for subsea umbilicals and power cables from concept through FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
• Lead in‑house site surveys, engineering studies, and ensure compliance with company procedures, quality, schedule, cost, and HSE requirements.
• Manage EPIC contractors and vendors, review technical documents, and approve or reject deviations and change requests.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of post‑graduate experience in Oil & Gas, with at least 10 years focused on subsea umbilical and cable design.
• Experience on at least two major offshore EPIC projects with direct responsibility for umbilical and power cable packages.
• Proven ability to work with ISO, API, and Shell DEP standards and to oversee manufacturing and testing.
