Senior Specialist – Ethics and Compliance (Privacy Officer)

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Ethics and Compliance (Privacy Officer) will join Sidra Medicine’s Governance, Risk, Ethics and Compliance department. Reporting to the Manager, the role focuses on privacy law compliance, ethical standards and risk mitigation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures and guidelines in line with applicable laws and industry standards.
• Conduct periodic compliance assessments, audits and privacy risk assessments, and monitor ongoing compliance activities.
• Develop, implement and deliver privacy training and orientation for staff.
• Lead investigations of alleged compliance violations and ethical misconduct, and support action‑plan implementation.
• Promote an ethical culture by delivering ethics training, enforcing the code of conduct and managing confidential reporting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with senior specialists for Governance, Risk and other functions to ensure integrated compliance and ethics standards.
• Provide regular reports to committees on compliance, ethics performance and program effectiveness.
• Manage projects, track key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement of compliance and ethics programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, finance, risk management or similar).
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in progressive compliance, ethics or privacy roles.
• Demonstrated experience with privacy laws such as GDPR, HIPAA or regional data‑protection regulations.
• Proven track record of conducting compliance audits, investigations and risk assessments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using compliance and ethics management software tools.
