Structural Work Inspector

About the role

The Structural Work Inspector will oversee on‑site inspection of structural works such as concrete, steel, formwork, rebar, precast elements and related civil infrastructure. The role ensures that all construction activities comply with approved drawings, method statements, specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect structural works on‑site and verify compliance with shop drawings, method statements and material specifications.
• Report non‑conformances, delays or deviations to the Site Engineer or Resident Engineer.
• Witness material testing and enforce quality control procedures.
• Maintain daily inspection records, progress updates and photographic evidence.
• Review contractor daily reports, manpower and equipment adequacy.
• Coordinate with other discipline inspectors to resolve interface issues.
• Participate in technical and progress meetings.
• Assist in reviewing method statements and ITPs from a site implementation perspective.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in structural inspection, preferably on infrastructure or roads & highways projects.
• Prior experience on Ashghal projects or with a GEC in Qatar is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of structural construction methods and quality control.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ACI, BS, ASTM).
• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
