Uniforms Technical Specialist

About the role

The Uniforms Technical Specialist leads the technical development of garments across multiple categories, with a strong focus on block development, fit accuracy, construction quality and pattern engineering. The role also manages a team of Product Developers and Quality Controllers, ensuring consistent technical execution and quality assurance across the supplier base.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve master blocks across product categories, keeping them aligned with brand fit standards and grading logic.
• Apply advanced fitting solutions to complex fit challenges across gender, body types and garment categories, maintaining fit integrity across size ranges.
• Oversee grading rules and increments so they align with the brand sizing strategy.
• Provide expert pattern making guidance, including manual and digital development, adjustments and corrections.
• Oversee detailed technical packs, including measurements, construction details, BOMs and finishing standards, and ensure suppliers understand garment requirements.
• Support the Manager Uniforms in embedding a Quality Management System (QMS) across technical and quality functions.
• Review and interpret fabric and garment test reports, and lead root cause analysis and corrective action for recurring quality issues.
• Manage and mentor Product Developers and Quality Controllers, providing training on fit analysis, block development, pattern corrections and quality control protocols.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Garment Technology, Fashion Design, Textile Engineering or a related field, with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership in multi-product environments and technical team management.
• Experience in a buying house or sourcing office is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, grading and fit analysis.
• Expertise in block development and managing fit across diverse product categories.
• Strong pattern making skills, both manual and digital.
