Accountant - Automotive Garage

About the role

An experienced and detail-oriented Accountant is sought to manage the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of an automotive garage. The role covers job cards, spare parts inventory, customer billing and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Open, update and close job cards
• Customer invoicing and collection
• Cash, POS and bank reconciliation
• Spare parts inventory and stock control
• Supplier invoices and accounts payable; customer receivables
• Petty cash and garage expenses
• Job costing and profitability
• Inventory reconciliation and stock counting
• Daily and monthly garage financial reporting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• Relevant accounting experience, preferably 2-5 years
• Previous experience in an automotive garage or workshop is mandatory
• Good knowledge of automotive spare parts and inventory control
• Strong analytical, organizational and numerical skills, plus good communication and coordination skills

Required skills

• Strong MS Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems or accounting software
• Understanding of job cards, job costing and financial reconciliations
