Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

An experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant is sought to join the Finance team in Qatar. The role covers managing accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate invoicing, monitoring customer payments, performing reconciliations and keeping financial records in SAP.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, payment tracking and account reconciliation.
• Prepare, issue and monitor customer invoices in line with contractual terms and company procedures.
• Record and allocate customer payments accurately in SAP, and follow up on overdue payments.
• Prepare AR ageing reports and perform monthly customer account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
• Maintain customer records, credit notes, debit notes and supporting documentation.
• Resolve billing disputes with operations, commercial teams and clients, and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and accounting standards, assist auditors, and suggest improvements to invoicing and collections.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in accounts receivable accounting.
• Hands-on SAP experience for AR transactions is mandatory; previous experience in Qatar or the GCC is an advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• SAP, preferably SAP FI-AR, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with AR ageing reports and month-end closing.
• Strong analytical, numerical and attention-to-detail skills, with good communication and problem-solving abilities.
