Business Finance Manager

About the role

The Business Finance Manager supports the business on all finance-related matters, mainly through financial and strategic planning, monitoring budget variances, forecasting, evaluating opportunities and risks, improving efficiencies and implementing cost control. As a leader, the role also helps staff deliver value-added reporting and analysis for senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the financial impact of business decisions and strategic initiatives, and partner with business units to make recommendations to senior management
• Monitor monthly expenditure variance and lead investigations into significant variances, taking control action where needed
• Lead the preparation, execution and analysis of budgets and rolling forecasts for business units
• Help define investment allocation, create structured business cases for projects and assess costs, benefits, scope, dependencies, risks and alignment with strategy
• Evaluate opportunities, risks and efficiencies, and report on the KPI performance of the assigned group
• Review internal controls and recommend enhancements, and present business cases to the Cost Management Committee
• Improve costing processes, review general ledger accounts and enhance systems and automation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA, CA or another postgraduate qualification preferred
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
• Manager of a large and diverse team
• Ability to keep records and information strictly confidential
