Accounts Supervisor - Payables & Control

About the role

Al-Futtaim Automotive is looking for an Accounts Supervisor covering Payables and Control. As part of the finance team, you will support dealership operations including Sales and After Sales, provide decision support for budgeting, forecasting and management information systems, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. The role covers cash control, sales accounting, credit control, stock controls, audit follow-up and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the full Accounts Payable cycle: invoice verification, coding, approval workflows and payment processing, with timely recording and processing of supplier invoices.
• Review and approve vendor reconciliations, monitor aging reports and ensure timely settlement of vendor liabilities.
• Review transactions for accuracy, completeness and proper account allocation, and support VAT, WHT, tax and other statutory compliance.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks in the payables process, and coordinate internal and external audit requirements.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations for supplier accounts and AP-related general ledger accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, capitalization, transfers, disposals and retirements, and review asset capitalization against accounting standards.
• Monitor depreciation calculations, reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger, and coordinate physical verification, tagging and insurance of assets.
• Administer employee medical insurance, workmen's compensation, fidelity insurance and other corporate policies, including renewals, premium reconciliations and claims follow-up.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems is essential.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, supplier reconciliations, general ledger controls and financial reporting.
• Understanding of financial controls, audit requirements and VAT, WHT, tax and statutory obligations.
• Practical knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation, asset verification and insurance administration.
• Analytical, process-oriented approach with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
