Alternate Site Manager (Civil/Electrical Engineer) – Al Udeid Air Base

About the role

The Alternate Site Manager (ASM) will lead the execution of the Engineering Support Services contract at Al Udeid Air Base, providing on‑site leadership for a multi‑disciplinary civil or electrical engineering team and serving as the primary liaison with U.S. Air Force stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all site operations in the absence of the Site Manager, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of engineering and construction services.
• Act as the main point of contact with USAF leadership and contracting representatives.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee delivery of all Performance Work Statement requirements.
• Enforce safety, quality and regulatory standards while managing cost control and forecasting.
• Direct, develop and staff a multi‑disciplinary workforce, mitigating operational and contractual risks.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors and supply‑chain activities, and ensure timely reporting to program leadership.
• Attend base logistics, deployment, exercise, safety and force‑protection meetings as required.
• Maintain on‑site presence within four hours of any government request.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen (USN) with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (high‑school diploma also required).
• Proven experience supervising engineering staff and managing large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, planning, project programming and ability to interpret plans and drawings.
• Ability to make decisions on behalf of the prime contractor and to direct subcontractors.
