Application Delivery Manager

About the role

The Delivery Unit Leader for Application Development oversees the end-to-end execution of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for Malomatia's custom application development portfolio. The role manages the software delivery team and ensures quality in all SDLC deliverables, working closely with the Practice Leader – Application Development & Management to improve quality, drive process improvements and build team capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and source the methodologies, processes and tools needed to deliver Java and .NET services, and create a roadmap to continuously improve development, testing, release and specification processes.
• Oversee the delivery unit's activities to ensure optimal productivity and timely project delivery.
• Support pre-sales by helping identify cross-up-sell opportunities and by contributing technical expertise to proposals.
• Support tender management by assessing the strategic fit and feasibility of RFPs and tenders, and estimating resource requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and SDLC oversight, including requirement estimation, development, testing, implementation, client follow-up, support and governance, and act as first line of escalation for project managers.
• Own the development of delivery unit capabilities, identify skill gaps and run training programmes.
• Manage resource allocation and team utilization to maximize billable hours, and track and report on billability and utilization targets.
• Plan and manage the delivery unit budget, oversee invoicing for clients and third-party vendors, and support client requirements analysis, interaction and escalations.

Required profile

• 12+ years of progressively larger experience in IT management focused on application development and package implementation.
• At least 8 years of experience managing a Scrum project or team through all SDLC phases.

Required skills

• Custom application delivery with Java and/or .NET.
• eServices development using integration technologies such as APIs and microservices.
• Cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) and deployment models.
• DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and software quality assurance best practices.
• Project delivery in Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
