Application Engineer – DX & VRV

About the role

The Application Engineer – DX & VRV supports Daikin's sales organization in Qatar by delivering technically sound, optimized HVAC solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide application engineering support from inquiry to order confirmation, including equipment selection, system design validation and technical compliance.
• Design, size and select DX, VRV and AHU equipment using Daikin selection software and other approved engineering tools.
• Prepare technical submittals, equipment schedules, selection reports and engineering documentation to support project proposals.
• Offer value‑engineering recommendations and alternative solutions to improve performance and commercial competitiveness.
• Coordinate with product management, sales, factory engineering and other internal teams to resolve technical queries and ensure timely project support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC application engineering, technical support or system design, preferably in Qatar or the GCC market.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, equipment selection, psychrometrics, heat‑load calculations and energy‑efficient applications.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Daikin VRV selection software.
• Experience using AutoCAD for HVAC design.
• Use of AHU selection software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of international HVAC standards (ASHRAE, AHRI) and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
