Architect – Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP)

About the role

The Architect will support the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) at Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar. This role involves delivering architectural and engineering calculations, preparing specifications, reports, and data tables, and ensuring design compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide new‑construction architectural services, including concept development, floor plans, elevations, schematics, and renderings.
• Conduct feasibility and environmental impact studies, define project objectives, requirements, and budgets.
• Prepare and present drawings for customer review and develop final construction plans.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances, making necessary revisions.
• Lead and attend contract‑required meetings.
• Perform selected construction inspections, quality‑control checks, and submittal reviews beyond the scope of construction managers.
• Verify design requirements and quality of work on‑site.
• Perform additional architectural tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an NCARB‑accredited university.
• At least 7 years of commercial (non‑residential) project experience as a registered architect.
• Minimum 5 years in a project‑lead role and 2 years experience with public or governmental organizations.
• Knowledge of planning principles, project programming, design reviews, project and construction management.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret‑level U.S. Government clearance.
• Strong teamwork, problem‑solving, and judgment skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2025 or later.
• Experience using architectural graphic software required by the contract.
