Assistant Branch Manager (Qatari and children of Qatari mothers)

About the role

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in ensuring smooth, compliant operations of a bank branch in Qatar. The role focuses on operational efficiency, regulatory adherence, and delivering a high‑quality client experience while supervising staff and handling cash‑handling responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day branch operations, ensuring compliance with bank SOPs and Qatar Central Bank regulations.
• Conduct random spot checks of procedures, policies, and service level agreements.
• Manage cash, vault, manager’s cheques and teller activities, and act as custodian of vault cash.
• Handle branch opening and closing, security alarms, and control of branch registers (key, physical, dispute, dispatch).
• Receive and resolve customer complaints, coordinating with relevant departments.
• Monitor anti‑money‑laundering alerts during account opening and daily transactions.
• Provide operational training and refresher sessions to branch staff to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise and coach sub‑ordinates, organizing work activities and delivering on‑the‑job feedback.
• Assist the Branch Manager during leave or absence and step in as acting manager when required.

Required profile

• Experience in bank branch operations and familiarity with Qatar Central Bank regulations.
• Strong knowledge of operational SOPs, cash handling procedures, and compliance monitoring.
• Ability to supervise staff, provide training and ensure adherence to service standards.
• Excellent attention to detail for conducting spot checks and handling documentation.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and internal departments.

Required skills

• Cash handling and vault management.
• Knowledge of anti‑money‑laundering (AML) monitoring.
• Proficiency with branch operational tools (e.g., document scanners).
