Assistant Manager Housekeeping

About the role

The Assistant Manager Housekeeping ensures that guest rooms, public areas and facilities meet Marriott’s high quality standards after cleaning. This role supports housekeeping management in daily operations, coordinates with multiple departments, and helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and pool areas after cleaning to verify quality standards.
• Run sold room reports, verify room status, prioritize cleaning and update departing guest room status.
• Act as liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office and Laundry to coordinate efforts.
• Document and resolve discrepancies with the Front Desk and communicate room assignment changes.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling and motivating employees.
• Follow company safety, security and maintenance policies; report hazards and complete safety training.
• Maintain professional appearance, protect company assets and uphold confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related housekeeping experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 55 lb unaided and heavier items with assistance.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel and perform repetitive motions throughout a shift.
