Assistant Store Manager - Beauty Retail

About the role

This Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in running a beauty retail store and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role covers day-to-day store operations, sales performance, team coaching, inventory and visual merchandising.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, grooming standards, tester hygiene and floor readiness
• Guide Beauty Advisors and Specialists on consultation techniques and product storytelling, and handle customer queries professionally
• Support the implementation of SOPs, hygiene practices and store discipline
• Help achieve store KPIs such as sales targets, conversion rate, ATV, UPT and customer retention; monitor product performance, stock levels and replenishment
• Assist in in-store activations, promotions, consultations and beauty events, and review daily sales reports to suggest improvements
• Lead and motivate Beauty Advisors, Specialists and Cashiers, provide on-floor coaching, reinforce product knowledge and train on new launches and beauty rituals
• Manage inventory, including replenishment, shrinkage control and expiry management (FIFO/FEFO), and coordinate with supply chain teams
• Ensure visual merchandising standards, planograms and brand presentation are met, and keep documentation, cash handling and audit readiness accurate

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management or a related field (preferred)
• 2-4 years of experience in beauty, cosmetics or luxury retail, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of beauty products, consultation techniques and customer experience standards
• Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, launch-driven retail environment

Required skills

• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management and retail reporting tools
• Proven ability to support KPIs, drive team performance and maintain operational excellence
