Associate Director – IT Cloud & Workplace Solutions

About the role

The Associate Director – Cloud Infrastructure & Workplace Solutions is a senior executive role responsible for defining, driving and governing Ooredoo Group’s global technology strategy. The position bridges group‑level vision with operating‑company execution to ensure modern, scalable and secure infrastructure across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive Group‑level IT Cloud, Infrastructure and Modern Workplace roadmaps, architectures and engineering practices.
• Establish architectural principles, technology standards and governance processes for all operating companies.
• Lead AI and GPU strategy, implementing accelerated‑computing infrastructure across the group.
• Oversee hybrid/multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), data‑center consolidation, virtualization and legacy‑to‑cloud migrations.
• Champion next‑generation workplace tools (UCaaS, productivity suites, IAM) and manage external service partners.
• Partner with Strategic Sourcing to evaluate bids, select vendors and secure economies of scale.
• Manage Group‑level CapEx and OpEx budgets, applying FinOps practices to optimise cloud spend.
• Collaborate with the Group CIS to embed zero‑trust security, disaster recovery and data‑privacy compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in cloud and infrastructure strategy, preferably in mobile and fixed telecom.
• Proven ability to influence federated teams and vendors without direct authority.
• International experience, especially in MENA and SEA regions.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Fluent in English; Arabic or French is a plus.
