Audio Visual Technician – Hotel Events & Venues

About the role

The Audio‑Visual Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining all AV equipment used in the hotel’s banquet halls, restaurants, bars and other public spaces. The role supports live events, background music, digital signage and any specialised AV requirements, ensuring a seamless experience for guests and event hosts.

Key responsibilities

• Transport, install and configure microphones, sound systems, projectors, LED screens, lighting rigs and staging according to event specifications.
• Operate soundboards, video switchers and lighting consoles during weddings, conferences, presentations and other live events.
• Serve as the on‑site technical point of contact for hosts and speakers, conducting rehearsals and troubleshooting under tight deadlines.
• Program and maintain background music systems, zoned audio levels and digital menu boards across restaurants and lounges.
• Set up specialised AV for dining events such as live acoustic performances, DJ sets, sports viewings and private presentations.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, safety checks and inventory tracking of all AV assets.
• Ensure AV storage areas are organised, secure and clean.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as an AV technician, preferably in hospitality or live‑event environments.
• Calm under pressure with strong problem‑solving abilities and a professional demeanor.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders and stand for extended periods during events.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
