Audio Visual Technician

About the role

A full-time Audio Visual Technician is needed at a Marriott property in Doha, Qatar. The role covers setting up, operating and troubleshooting AV, projection, lighting and conferencing equipment in banquet and meeting rooms, and supporting guests with AV services.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and troubleshoot AV, projection, lighting and conferencing equipment; oversee AV set-up in banquet and meeting rooms.
• Keep equipment operational, repair or clean it when needed, label broken items and report problems to the manager or supervisor.
• Tape down and dress loose wires and cables, and check delivered equipment and room set-up against the Banquet Event Order.
• Communicate changes to flowsheets, assist and instruct guests on AV use, upsell AV services and monitor equipment operation.
• Break down, remove and secure equipment when not in use, and follow the Marriott Visual Productions (MVP) SOP book.
• Follow safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and keep a professional appearance and confidentiality.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs and comply with quality assurance standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
