Banquet Manager

About the role

The Banquet Manager directs and motivates the team while personally helping deliver high-quality service according to requirements and standards. The role also covers financial and administrative responsibilities, including asset protection, and involves clear communication with all stakeholders involved in the event's success. It is a full-time position located in Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Manage banquet operations: order supplies such as china, glass, silver, buffet presentations and props, and maintain established sanitation levels
• Control departmental inventories and equipment, use beverage records to control liquor costs, and schedule service staff to meet forecasts and service standards
• Help build lasting relationships with groups to retain business and grow it
• Set goals, delegate tasks and lead monthly department meetings with the banquet team
• Act as liaison to the kitchen staff, lead shifts and take part in event service
• Apply and expand knowledge of food and wine pairings and current event trends
• Interact with guests to gather feedback, handle complaints and empower staff to deliver excellent service
• Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results, and implement corrective actions based on quarterly survey findings
• Communicate and execute emergency procedures, train staff in safety, observe service behaviour and lead discussions on progress

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage or a related field
