Chief Engineer (Hotel Pre‑Opening)

About the role

Banyan Tree Doha is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead all engineering operations during the hotel’s pre‑opening phase and ensure the technical infrastructure is ready for launch.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation, commissioning and testing of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety and building systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and budget constraints.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors, manage preventive‑maintenance schedules and develop emergency protocols to guarantee operational readiness.
• Recruit, train and mentor the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and service‑oriented culture.
• Control the engineering budget, source tools and equipment, and implement energy‑efficient practices.
• Produce progress reports, align engineering milestones with the overall project timeline and provide technical support during the hotel opening.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering operations in a hotel pre‑opening environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop a high‑performing engineering team.
