Civil Engineer – 11-Month Temporary Contract

About the role

Milaha is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support shipyard infrastructure upgrades, facility enhancement projects, marine civil works and CAPEX initiatives in Qatar. The role involves contractor coordination, technical review, site supervision and ensuring delivery within quality, safety, budget and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, execution and monitoring of shipyard infrastructure and facility upgrade projects in line with scope, schedule and budget.
• Review civil drawings, specifications, BOQs, technical submissions, method statements and contractor proposals.
• Conduct regular site inspections, monitor construction activities, contractor performance and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and project‑related issues.
• Provide civil engineering support for floating dock facilities, workshops, roads, drainage systems, utility networks, hardstands and marine infrastructure.
• Support cost control through budget monitoring, progress claims, cost tracking and identification of potential delays or overruns.
• Maintain project documentation including progress reports, meeting minutes, action logs, inspection records and risk registers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in civil engineering, construction supervision or infrastructure project execution.
• Experience with concrete and steel structures, industrial buildings, workshops, warehouses and fit‑out projects.
• Strong background in contractor coordination and site supervision.
• Qatar experience and MMUP/UPDA certification preferred; PMP certification an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with MS Project (advantage).
