Commis I Chef

About the role

Alwadi Hotel Doha, the first MGallery boutique hotel in Msheireb Downtown Doha, is looking for a Commis I Chef to join its kitchen team. The Commis I prepares and presents high-quality dishes according to hotel recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines, while helping the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie run their section and contribute to departmental targets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present dishes in line with recipes, portions and presentation guidelines.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie in the daily operations of the assigned kitchen section.
• Ensure consistent quality for à la carte, buffet, banquets and special events.
• Carry out mise en place efficiently so service runs smoothly.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and sanitation of workstations, equipment and kitchen areas in line with HACCP standards and hotel policy.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Receive, store, rotate and monitor food using FIFO principles to keep it fresh and minimise waste.
• Help with stock control, inventory and ordering of food supplies.
• Work with the culinary team to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.
• Report equipment faults, maintenance issues or food quality concerns to the Chef de Partie.
• Keep learning new techniques and developing culinary skills.

Required profile

• Creative and passionate about food and customer service.
• Able to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player.
• Diplomas or certifications required if needed.
