Commis III – Pastry Kitchen

About the role

The Commis III will support the pastry kitchen at The Ritz‑Carlton in Doha, preparing and cooking a variety of baked goods while adhering to the brand’s Gold Standards. This entry‑level position involves hands‑on food preparation, equipment handling and maintaining high hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pastry items according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Portion, chop, store and organise ingredients for daily production.
• Operate baking tools, measuring equipment and kitchen appliances safely.
• Follow food‑safety handling policies, personal hygiene and sanitation procedures.
• Check and record temperatures of food and equipment, reporting any issues.
• Clean and disinfect work areas, set‑up and break‑down stations each shift.
• Monitor food quality and portion sizes throughout service.
• Communicate professionally with team members and answer telephone inquiries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than one year of related pastry or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licence or certification needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety handling policies.
• Understanding of sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Proficiency with measuring tools.
• Experience using kitchen appliances and baking equipment.
