Comprehensive Mapping & Private Sector Analysis Consultant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a consultant to develop a comprehensive mapping and analysis of Qatar’s private sector. This work will produce a public‑facing reference document and an internal strategic resource to guide IOM’s engagement with businesses, associations and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and profile major private‑sector companies across large firms, SMEs, multinationals, family businesses, free‑zone entities and social enterprises.
• Map and assess business associations, chambers, councils and networks, evaluating their mandates, membership and influence.
• Document corporate CSR, ESG and sustainability practices and assess internal governance policies.
• Analyze the regulatory framework governing private‑sector operations, including company registration, licensing, investment, labour and ESG/CSR regulations.
• Identify key engagement platforms, events and communication channels, prioritize high‑potential partners and develop practical outreach pathways aligned with IOM’s strategic pillars.

Required profile

• Advanced Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, business, development studies).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in private‑sector analysis, market research or economic mapping, preferably in Qatar or the GCC.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CSR, ESG and sustainable business practices.
• Fluency in English (oral and written); Arabic is an asset.
