Construction Supervisor – Piping

About the role

Airswift is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor specialized in piping to lead installation activities for a major oil & gas client in Qatar. The role combines safety leadership with hands‑on supervision of underground and above‑ground piping works, pressure testing, and mechanical completion.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all piping erection activities (UG & AG) and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Manage pressure testing, pre‑commissioning, and mechanical completion inspections.
• Coordinate QA/QC procedures, permits to work, isolation, and lock‑out/tag‑out of live services.
• Oversee tie‑ins to existing facilities, lifting plans, crane studies, and stage inspections according to approved ITPs.
• Lead the EPIC contractor team, ensuring safety standards and client/PMC requirements are met.
• Review and interpret piping drawings, P&IDs, and manufacturer instructions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in piping erection, pressure testing, and mechanical completion for oil & gas facilities.
• Previous experience as an EPIC contractor supervisor; client or PMC supervision is a plus.
• Current experience working in Qatar industrial cities or other GCC locations.
• Strong safety leadership and excellent written/oral English communication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, SHELL DEP standards
• Welding and NDT inspection (AWS, ASNT, CSWIP, API certifications)
• Pipe coating systems – painting, galvanizing, wrapping, insulation
• BGAS certification (advantageous)
• Pipe spooling, supports, carbon steel, stainless/alloy steel, uPVC, GRE/GRV piping
• Lifting plan development and crane studies
• Permit to work, isolation & lock‑out/tag‑out procedures
• Tie‑in to live facilities and integration testing
• Stage inspection and testing per ITPs
• MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
