Consultant – Pediatric Allergy and Immunology

About the role

The Consultant provides senior clinical practice in pediatric allergy and immunology, overseeing junior doctors and other team members. They take a comprehensive view of the care pathway and accept ultimate responsibility for patients admitted under their name. The role also includes teaching, research and contributing to the strategic vision of the Clinical, Research, Education and Training programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and exercise clinical privileges for all patient‑care interventions within the specialty.
• Conduct daily inpatient rounds, manage treatment plans, and provide outpatient screening, examination and follow‑up.
• Supervise medical staff, prepare regular activity reports and participate in departmental and hospital committees.
• Deliver academic training, scientific research and health‑education programmes as directed by the department chair.
• Participate in on‑call duty scheduling and provide on‑call services.
• Ensure compliance with HMC policies, research governance and revalidation standards.

Required profile

• Western medical qualification (UK, USA, Canada, Australia or equivalent).
• Minimum of one year post‑qualification clinical experience.
• Valid medical licence/registration from home country and/or eligibility for licensing in Qatar.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
