Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Qatar. The role involves delivering specialized diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents with eye disorders within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric ophthalmic conditions, including strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, refractive disorders, and retinal diseases.
• Perform comprehensive pediatric eye examinations, specialized diagnostic procedures, and pediatric ophthalmic surgeries such as strabismus surgery.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, collaborate with other specialists, and provide consultation services for neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.
• Educate patients and families, supervise junior staff, and contribute to quality improvement, research, and CME programs.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and Board Certification/Fellowship in Ophthalmology.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Qatar and strong communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
