Cook II - In Room Dining

About the role

A full-time, non-management Cook II position for in-room dining at a W Hotels property in Doha, Qatar. The cook prepares and cooks food according to recipes, quality standards and presentation standards, and supports the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, and prepare cold foods.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, test foods for doneness and monitor food quality.
• Set up and break down the workstation, and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents and injuries, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Work within the team, respect confidentiality and company assets, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
