Cyber Security Intern

About the role

Loons Group W.L.L., an engineering and technology organisation in Qatar active in telecom, electronic security, IT and electrical systems, is hiring a full-time, on-site Cyber Security Intern in Doha. The intern helps monitor network and system security, identifies potential vulnerabilities and supports incident response under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Review security logs and help document findings
• Support vulnerability assessments and the implementation of basic security controls
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to understand existing infrastructure and learn security best practices
• Help maintain secure configurations and support the preparation of security reports
• Take part in training and knowledge-sharing sessions to build practical cybersecurity skills

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity and cyber risk concepts, with an interest in defensive security
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
• Effective written and verbal English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage
• Willingness to learn, adapt to new tools and follow security and compliance guidelines

Required skills

• Basic understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection/prevention systems
• Awareness of information security standards such as data protection, access control and security policies
• Introductory familiarity with application security, common vulnerabilities and secure coding concepts
