Design Manager

About the role

The Design Manager leads the visual expression of HIA’s brand across digital, environmental, corporate and campaign channels. Reporting within the in‑house creative studio, the role combines hands‑on design work with strategic oversight, ensuring all outputs meet brand standards and stakeholder objectives. The manager also supports the delivery of events, activations and branded experiences throughout the airport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate high‑level briefs into creative concepts, visual narratives and integrated design systems.
• Provide art direction for photo shoots, videography, motion assets and on‑ground brand activations.
• Guide development of environmental design, airport graphics, merchandise and physical assets in line with brand principles.
• Maintain and evolve the HIA visual identity system, ensuring consistent application of typography, colour, layout and iconography.
• Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, Communications, Events and Executive teams to deliver effective design solutions.
• Mentor junior designers, lead internal design reviews and workshops.
• Stay current on global design trends and introduce innovative motion techniques and emerging media formats.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or related field with at least 6 years of experience, including 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Or high‑school/vocational certificate with minimum 9 years of creative design experience and proven ability to lead complex brand projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, XD or Figma.
• Experience in campaign design, motion graphics and signage systems.
• Strong layout and typography skills for print and digital applications.
• Working knowledge of environmental design and production processes (vinyl applications, exhibition graphics, displays).
• Familiarity with digital asset management systems and version control for large brand teams.
• Arabic language proficiency.
