Digital Platforms Specialist

About the role

Northwestern University in Qatar is looking for a detail‑oriented Digital Platforms Specialist to support the day‑to‑day management of its digital presence. The role will work closely with marketing, communications and technical teams to keep the university’s websites and related platforms up‑to‑date and user‑friendly.

Key responsibilities

• Update and maintain website content and digital platform materials in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Upload, format, and publish text, images, and other approved content through the content management system.
• Create and edit web and social media copy, captions, and basic digital storytelling assets.
• Perform basic graphic and multimedia updates while adhering to brand guidelines.
• Monitor website functionality, troubleshoot routine content and user‑experience issues.
• Support regular CMS updates, content reviews, quality checks, and simple performance reporting.
• Assist with basic SEO, accessibility, and analytics tasks.
• Collaborate with content, design, and technical teams on digital projects and campaigns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Digital Media, Communications, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience supporting websites or digital content management.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow established processes.

Required skills

• Experience with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal.
• Basic proficiency in HTML and CSS; familiarity with JavaScript is a plus.
• Ability to create and edit basic digital content and visual assets using common design tools.
• Understanding of web accessibility, SEO, and digital analytics concepts.
