Director - Corporate Legal (Qatari National)

About the role

The Director – Corporate Legal will manage and oversee all legal aspects of the Group’s banking and finance activities, ensuring compliance and safeguarding the organization’s position. This senior role provides strategic legal leadership across complex financing transactions and broader corporate matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership on banking and finance transactions, acting as the principal legal advisor.
• Define, oversee, and govern the due‑diligence strategy and execution at Group level.
• Lead and approve drafting, negotiation and execution of complex banking and finance agreements, term sheets, MoUs and security documentation.
• Partner with Group Finance, Tax and senior management to optimise financial, tax and transactional structures.
• Deliver executive‑level legal advice on risk mitigation and compliance for all banking and finance activities.
• Support broader corporate and commercial legal matters as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in mortgage banking and consumer financial products.
• Specialisation in Finance Law with commercial finance, lending, secured loans and banking matters.
• Experience in bank lending, property finance, project finance, acquisition finance, assets finance, derivatives, capital markets and Islamic finance.
• Strong academic background, excellent communication skills and bar membership in a Gulf state, EU country or the US.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.
